Eurekan Biotech wins a $150,000 research grant from the African Development
Bank (AfDB) through the Directorate for Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA) to mine
for siRNA "vaccines" from Bat tissues - as possible Ebola & Zika therapeutics.
The preliminary studies and sampling are to cover some African regions affected during the last Ebola pandemic which
may include - Nigeria, Sierra-Leone and Liberia. Such studies are being supported to further help Africa prepare for possible future resurgence of these infectious diseases.
The study will be completed by a cohort of African scientists from Eurekan Biotech, Nigeria; ACEGID (African Centre of Excellence for the Genomics of Infectious Diseases) Ede, Nigeria; Bowen University, Iwo, Nigeria; University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Nigeria; and Florida Atlantic University, USA.
